A Life Lately Update

IMG_2873.jpg

2019 was a wild ride for our family.

It started with an unexpected change in employment for my husband, causing much soul searching and ultimately a change in career. I’m not going to sugar coat it, there have been some hard times…there still are, but for the most part we all agree that this change has benefited our family in a lot of ways.

You know what they say, when one door closes another door opens. And now, we’re a family of entrepreneurs. So that’s a good ( but sometimes challenging…so many moving parts!) thing.

Personally, I took a step back from design to focus on myself and my family during this time of transition. In fact, the den makeover project (catch up here) I shared last week was one of the only substantial projects I completed in 2019. The good news is it sparked a resurgence in my creativity and I have several projects already lined up for the new year…yeah!

Speaking of the den project (catch up here) remember how I said I wished I had a before pic…well, ask and you shall receive…because I got one.

The den wasn’t the only big change that happened at the end of 2019 though…have you seen all the updates to our website? New home page, navigation, updated logo, direct links to the Instagram page - and of course the shop section, which will be coming soon.

I’d love to hear any specifics that you’d like to see in the shop.

As of now we have tabletop, accessories and furniture as the main categories … most items will ship, minus the furniture (local delivery available tho), and we will also offer local pick up.

It’s an exciting time for Brass Pineapple Interiors!

In other exciting news, I have taken on an additional day at Cotswold Marketplace. I am there Wednesdays and Fridays … come visit!

And I’m super excited to announce that I will be curating the front of shop spaces. The plan is to step away from my “signature” style and showcase a more transitional look, utilizing items from throughout the shop. It’s an exciting challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started.

Here’s a look at a current vignette at Cotswold Marketplace.

Of course no “life lately” post would be complete without our forced family fun update.

We were lucky to have family come visit for a whole week over the holidays … lots of family time, without the forced fun part. Just plain ole fun!

Highlights included: ice skating and light walk at the U.S. National White Water Center, hiking through McDowell Nature Preserve, a rainy afternoon spent gaming at Abari Game Bar, a night out at one of our favorite restaurants, Barcelona Wine Bar, and a Mad for Plaid New Years Eve party.

Happy New Year!

Until next time…
