The Mix

Two posts in two days….I guess I’m excited to be back on the blog!

But, seriously, I snapped a couple of pics for the gram and thought maybe I should share a bit here as well. You know, two birds - one stone and all that. So here goes, but please bare with me while I try to get my words out. I’m definitely rusty.

For those of you who have been with me for the long haul, you may recall that this space in our den has seen a lot of iterations over the years! I may not remember them all, but I do remember the armoire moment, the piano phase and most recently the woven credenza look. The credenza has made its way to our new “wall” in the back hall, which I’ll share more about later once that space in further along, leaving this space open to a new look.

Here’s how it came together: the chest of drawers hails from our London days, so its definitely been around the block - ha! The chair, large scale mirror and floral art were inherited from my parents. The lamp was a HomeGoods find years ago, but recently got an upgrade with a new Pooky shade. The other art was purchased here in Charlotte; I was told it’s from a local artist, although (sadly) I don’t know their name. The needlepoint pillow (find it here) is a recent purchase that highlights one of my favorite things to say. IYKYK.

All other accessories are from my shop at Cotswold Marketplace. The tennis ball is curtesy of our puppy, Charlie. Thanks, Charlie.

And this, my friends, is what I like to call the “Mix”. A little old, a little new, a little high, a little low. All coming together to create a cozy, layered look.

P.S. My FAVE design book (here) at the moment!

I just couldn’t finish off this post without sharing a pic with the lamp illuminated - just look at the color of that shade- i mean, come on! It’s so good! Kind of brothel-y, but in a good way - if that’s possible!'

As always, find more on Instagram!
