Playing in the Dirt
It's cold and rainy here in Charlotte and we're fighting off the stomach bug after a weekend away, but before all that happened we had a gloriously warm and sunny day that called for a little playing in the dirt.
Meaning I finally got a chance to install our new front porch containers. I choose these from Restoration Hardware, they are sheet metal in an aged copper finish (lots of patina coming my way) and I love their beautiful, simple lines. Because we have mostly shade on our front porch, I choose white blooming Camilla to anchor the containers. I love how the dark, waxy leaves pop against the terra-cotta hued stucco. For additional contrast I underplanted the camilla with chartreuse creeping jenny and white pansies.
The new containers are a simple change (one of many more to come, hopefully) that create a large impact on our overall front facade facelift. Just in time for the holidays...
