A Life Lately Update

Hello! There seem to be a lot of new faces out there, so I thought I’d start this post with a little (re)introduction.

Hi. I’m Liz, owner of Brass Pineapple Interiors. I’m a wife, mom, former sales & marketing guru turned blogger, home stylist, and now retail shop owner. My love for European influenced furniture runs deep, as does my passion for entertaining with style and ease. We’ve lived in both Chicago and London, but are fortunate to now call Charlotte, North Carolina our forever home.

While blogging, I shared my home, renovations, and interests with readers all over the world. Eventually, I began to share my style with friends, neighbors and readers alike through in-home styling services. But, the more clients I took on the more I struggled to source “the look” I had fallen in love with while living overseas. I created the shop to fill that void, by offering a curated collection of affordable European influenced items. Stocked full of furniture, unique finds, accessories and gifts we can be found at Cotswold Marketplace or online (soon) at Brasspineappleinteriors.com

My design moto: Bringing dark wood back!

Which brings me to a little project we’ve been working on behind the scenes…

Brass Pineapple Interiors retail shop goes ONLINE soon!!!! Hopefully, just in time for the holidays. We’ll be offering more of what you’ve been loving, unique finds and some furniture, too. Shipping (for smaller items) and local delivery will be available!

I’m so excited and hope you are too…definitely more updates to come on this project!

Speaking of unique finds, we visited High Point Market this week.

We opted for the day trip: got up early, hit the road and checked in by 9, walked 10 Million steps, saw loads of great things, found tons of inspiration, ordered some goodies ( brought a few home too) and headed home after a very long day!

I can’t wait to share some of our finds, bring them into the shop and offer them online (soon), too. Very, very exciting.

In other life lately news, we’ve been embracing Fall like it’s a fleeting season around here. Probably because it is!

A couple of weeks ago we went apple picking at Carrigan Farms. You know I love a good “forced family fun” excursion. A quick outing resulted in more apples than we can handle. We’ve been making EVERYTHING apple.

Some of our favorites have been apple crisp, apple crostata, apple chutney, applesauce (of course), and an apple dutch baby .

Did you know you can freeze apples? I didn’t. Read all about it here.

We have a birthday coming up at the end of the week, which means cake. Sadly, not apple cake. For now, we’re pressing pause on all the apple baked goods until the birthday cake yumminess has passed.

Thankfully our frozen apples will live on to fatten us up well into November.

Speaking of forced family fun…we also hit the pumpkin patch at Wise Acres recently. While it wasn’t exactly the bucolic experience I had envisioned, we had fun (complete with some cute photos!) and even managed to get a proper BBQ lunch out of the day.

Moe’s BBQ in Mathews has the best smoked wings ever. Hands down. It’s a must.

Our pumpkin patch excursion lead to a kid centric Halloween front porch makeover just in time for the upcoming Halloween neighborhood (in our caul-de-sac this year) extravaganza. The pressure is on to get our decorations going!

More to come on the Halloween homefront, for sure. Follow along on my Instagram stories to check out more decorations.

Tell me, do you let your kids go wild on the decorations or do you try and manage the overall look? I’m learning to let go a little more everyday … or so I tell myself.

until next time,
