A Coffee Table Challenge
Well, these are crazy times…am I right? Scary, unprecedented times requiring everyone and I mean EVERYONE to slow life down, social distance, stay home and stay healthy. For the betterment of all!
How have you been spending your time? When the weather is nice, we’ve spent a lot of time outside - but when it’s not so nice, we’re all looking for something to pass the time. A fun and simple project to do at home is a coffee table makeover. I spent a rainy day working in our den (while homeschooling simultaneously, obviously) … grab a cuppa and take a look.
First, the biggest change of all … new coffee table in da house! I ordered this one for a client and loved it so much, I ordered myself one, too. And one to sell at the shop. Sadly, Cotswold Marketplace is now closed to the public (virtual shopping only) but I still have one in storage should anyone local want one. Can also order more - just say the word, friends. I’m here for ya!
Also, as long as we’re chatting about change, I added a “new to me” chair to this space as well. Truthfully, I bought this chair to sell on because I loved the shape, but I guess I was the only one that felt that way because it never sold. So…she found a new home at my house, to be reupholstered at some point.
Not that the chair has anything to do with the coffee table makeover challenge. i’m just in the sharing mood, I guess. Isolation, ya know?
This new light weight pompom throw came in for the shop and I had to snag one as it’s the perfect corresponding link to the chair. Loving how they talk to each other. Happy accidents are the best kind of accidents.
2 available should anyone else want one. Most items are listed in my online shop, if not, please reach out to me directly and I’ll see what I can do. We all need a distraction sometimes…
Also, don’t miss the sweet golden wishbone on the far table…literally works everywhere!
Now let’s get down to our coffee table makeover challenge … I mean, that was my original point, right?!?!
This is a very layered look, which I’m kinda digging on this cold and dreary day. Layers feel cozy in the winter, warmer weather equals less clutter, at least to me.
Set of 3 textured golden rectangular trays layered with your fave candle and a pretty box of matches.
Any coffee table must have. You just can’t go wrong with this simple starting point.
Moving right along, we have a set of 3 rustic wood finals, a glass knot and brass boxes.
Varying heights, texture and finishes … but they all speak to each other, which makes it work.
The bronze glass knot speaks to the wood tones of the finials as well as the stack of books. The brass boxes work with the brass trays…you get it.
Flow, baby, flow.
A stack of books is another quintessential coffee table styling trick. Not only does it add height but it highlights whatever you place on top. Here we have a horn calligraphy brush and magnetic hourglass with gray sand. (perfect for all those time-outs during home schooling…just kidding, kinda)
And did you catch the title golden dragonfly nestled into the planter. Yeah, it’s cute - I know.
But, seriously, you have to have something living. It just adds so much….life, for lack of a better descriptor.
With these long days at home, it’s a nice distraction to play around with your interiors.
Plus it gives you something new to look at! My TV console might be next, real tired of that view already.
If you’re looking for a way to pass an afternoon, join me in the coffee table makeover challenge. Tag me @brasspineappleint in your photos on Insta and add #bpicoffeetablechallenge so we can all check them out.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Stay healthy, everybody!
Until next time…
